Tension Release Exercises
Dr. Berceli has studied stress and trauma around the world. He was actually in a warring country. What he discovered is that when a bomb goes off, everyone has the same natural reaction of stretching into the fetal position. With every stress there is an action of contracting or pulling the body to protect the head. After that, he noticed that the children started shaking or shaking. Because children do this, he saw it as a way of meditation to get rid of the stress of the incident. Dr. Berceli believes that if there is a natural physical reaction to stress, there must be a natural way to release it. And here! He realized that the way the body releases the injury is to actually release it. Involuntary aggression patterns are observed in animals. In the video below, a wildebeest (impala) captures a wildebeest (leopard). In a last ditch effort to stay alive, the impala plays dead ("frozen" state). Somehow, the tiger eventually escapes, leaving the impala safe. Look at the impala's energy and stress from the incident.
However, people tend to suppress this shock response for social and cultural reasons. If you think about shaking, you may think that it is a sign of weakness, or it is strange, or it means that it is bad. In fact, it is the body's way of releasing stress and suffering. Along with the stress response, there is a release of stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol in the body. These hormones help prepare you to respond to stress, whether it's running, fighting, or even immobilizing (or fear). The reflexive jerk that follows helps the body to use the excess energy that has been released so as not to be trapped in a constant state of conflict and "fight or flight". Read more about this at What is Trauma Release?
To help people get back to those hobbies, Dr. Berceli has developed a series of exercises that help stretch and fatigue large muscles, including the central muscle called the ileopsoas that holds tension in the body.
